Losing weight is definitely tough and it gets even more complicated when you look online for the ways to lose weight quickly.  If you ever thought about losing weight using the scientific methods then today is the day when you learn this life changing technique.

Losing weight fast is an idea that is actually not even worth exploring because there is no sustainable, scientific way to do it other than starving yourself for a few days. But losing weight overtime is certainly possible and there is a pretty good scientific literature on the subject too.

If you’ve already searched online on this topic, you will be familiar with this theory that taking a certain number of carbohydrates, protein, fat and other nutrients help you lose weight faster.

Let me make it very clear, this is completely false and has no scientific backing. Although, it could be good for your health to maintain a balance in your diet but is of little use when we want to lose weight.

Let’s now look at the proven way to lose weight.

Before I explain the scientific method of losing weight, you need to understand what calories are. The Calorie (with a capital C), equal to 1000 calories, is a unit of energy that you receive from the food that you eat.

Not everything that you eat has calories in it e.g Diet Coke has 0 calories because it cannot be broken down and digested by your body – of course that is a concerning matter in itself but as far as calories are concerned, its true that it has 0 calories. Every food item has a different amount of energy, thus different calories.

However, you need to keep in mind that calories are calculated after taking into account the fat, carbs, protein and every other bio-molecule. So you don’t need to worry about any of that when it comes to losing weight. All you need to watch is your daily calories intake.

Now that you understand what calories are and how it all works, its time that I tell you the scientific formula to lose weight. Here it comes.

Your daily calories intake should be lesser than the calories that you burn.

It’s as simple as that!

For those who deeply hate Mathematics, what it actually means is that you start writing down the calories that you’re eating and the calories that you’re burning. At the end of the day, the calories that you’ve burnt should always be more than what you’ve eaten.

No, it’s not. When your body doesn’t have enough carbohydrates to carry out the functions, it starts breaking down the stored fat.

Fat is actually the secondary source of energy of our body. When the body taps into this reserved energy to meet its needs, the fat starts fading away and you will see the number dropping on the weight scale gradually.

So, it is perfectly normal for the body to utilise fat instead of the regular carbs. Actually, that is our main aim in this whole process “to shed that fat”.

How many calories should I eat daily?

It usually depends on different factors such as age, sex, height, daily activity etc. So you should adapt the calories figure according to your lifestyle.

An average male adult, however, should intake around 2200 – 2500 calories and an average female should eat around 1700 -2000 calories. This average actually means that this is what your body burns in a day from the average daily tasks such as walking, sleeping, laughing and anything that an average person does.

So, if you start eating less than that, it means that your body will need more energy than it is getting which ultimately means it will start breaking down the fat reserved in your body to get the energy from and that is what we want to, “lose fat”.

Okay, let me drop an interesting idea here. You can lose weight just by eating burgers or fried chicken. Interesting isn’t it?

One big mac has around 600 calories. So, if you eat two big macs a day and nothing else, like literally nothing else, then your intake is around 1,200 calories. And with that amount of calories consumption, we should be good to lose weight.

I can’t say much about the impact it might have on your health but one thing is for sure, you can lose weight by eating anything that you like. The condition is that should be lesser than your calories burn for the day.

Don’t believe me? Search on google for a person called Mark Haub. He is a professor at Kansas State University who lost 27 pounds in ten weeks just by eating Oreos, Doritos and sugary cereals.
